The wait is finally over for all you Mac and Revit users thanks to Frame. No more Bootcamp, Parallels or switching between a PC and Mac, well, yes, but no. Autodesk don’t have a Revit for Mac version but there is an application called Frame that it can run through and Autodesk have certified it for Revit and AutoCAD.
May 05, 2011 Mac will only run Revit in a virtulized Windows enviroment. The new iMac will cost more up front, but from my experience are much better in the long run. You should not have any issues with running Revit on OSX with those system specs. But talk with a Mac user for a more details understanding on how Revit and MAC work together. In Revit, Options, User Interface, customize the keyboard shortcut for Pan Active View; I used 'shift+P'. Now everytime you 'shift+P' you'll invoke the Pan command. [FONT="]I have been using bootcamp for Autodesk Revit and it's such a hassle to have to Partition the Hard Disk and then restart the computer. I know how VMware works and it makes the computer slow. Windows doesn't suck, but I prefer Macintosh. Autodesk has already released an AutoCad for Mac. I have seen the Autodesk Educational version of the Autocad for Mac and it's awesome! I mainly use Revit because it's BIM. I really do hope one is released for Mac.[/FONT]
